Scottish Regiment, Badges, Balmoral Badge Backs + Framed Examples
Look up your favorite Scottish Regiment for family ties / history and choose an appropriate historic badge, add a badge back (swatch of tartan) for a Balmoral recreation - frame them individually yourself or select one of pre-framed examples.
All badges are researched for regiment, years and verified for authenticity or replica as indicated.
Collect them from Victorian (pre 1900 with Victorian Queens Crown), Edwardian, and Georgian (Kings Crown and cyphers covering WW1 and WW2 - 1952) through to Elizabeth (Queens Crown / cold war 1953 +), which also feature the lighter base alloy and "stay-bright" anodized finish.
ArtioZen now houses thousands of insignia and has many hours of sorting and listed ahead - it keeps me off the streets! So please contact me with any inquiries / requests!
Why replica badges also? The genuine badges are identified to approved patterns and makers - along with a series of tell-tale features - these were for official issue. Then comes the range of "replicas" - unofficial issue items - made by authentic makers but not approved or adopted. These same makers have produced "collectors' series" over the last 50 years - some are famous / sought-after and others are the only realistic way to collect rare and obscure examples. The rest are simply reproductions at best hosted by the subject regimental gift shop.
All badge backs are genuine imported Scottish 11oz wool Tartan of the correct colors. Patches are cut in the style and orientation as indicated for each regiment - oversize (31/4" x 31/4"for trimming to shape or creating tasseled edges.
Framed badges use a plastic 3D floating frame and are sized and backed as indicated with handwritten description.
