Low Light / Night WW2 Binoculars - Para / SOE / RAF - 2.5 Power

$300.00Price

Here we have what was referred to as "Paratroop Opera Glasses" - VF 2506 Low Light / Night Binoculars galilean designed low magnification (2.5) / wide angle of view (10 degree) with 50mm Objective lenses for light gathering.  These were a rare Optical Stores item issued to select roles - a few famous photos put them in Commonwealth Paratroop hands, RAF Pathfinders / Glider Pilots and those of clandestine forces for the push into Northeast Europe.

The binoculars retain 70% of their original black paint and textured finish but are fully functional - they are fixed distance for eye space and have simple focus wheel.  The large Bakelite eye cups have one chip - which is typical of this design and age.  Ideal for stuffing down the neck of your Denison smock on their long supple leather neck strap.

The leather carrier is made by AG&Co  is in very good condition, well-marked with a long supply strap - a few dings and scratches - simple leather treatment would be appropriate.
