1943 Canadian Parachute Company - NOS Glider Quick Release Seat Belt - Horsa
An NOS Glider Seat belt as used by Airbourne troops in the Commonwealth from 1942 to the mid 1950s. It is unclear which vehicle this would be for - would be Horsa, Hamilcar and similar - maybe the C47 seats? Clearly marked in several places as Produced by the Canadian Parachute Company in 1943. It is of very wide and sturdy canvas construction with captive metal hardware to produce vehicle attachment points at its ends and a quick release toggle mechanism in the middle. It is not clear if these were designed / expected to be used for one flight / landing only or reusable. There have been a handful observed in the markets of the world in the last decade - add a piece of history and technology to your collection or display!
